Fluid Exchange Services for Vehicles

To ensure your vehicle is running properly, you should regularly check all the essential fluids that your vehicle requires to operate. There are 7 different types of fluid that are essential for your vehicle. Each one has its own function and without the manufacturer recommended amount in your vehicle, the operation may cease to function properly.

There are 7 Different Types of Fluid

    1. Engine Oil
Engine oil acts as a lubricant to reduce wear on all moving parts of your vehicle’s engine and also cleans, inhibits corrosion, improves sealing, and cools the engine by carrying heat away from moving parts.

    1. Transmission Fluid
Transmission fluid acts as a lubricant for all of the moving parts inside your vehicle’s transmission. In an automatic transmission, this fluid also serves as a coolant and a viscous fluid that transmits power from the engine to the transmission. A variety of fluids are used for different transmissions.

    1. Coolant / Antifreeze
Coolant, which is commonly called antifreeze, is a mixture of ethylene or propylene glycol and water, usually in a 50/50 ratio. Servicing the coolant involves draining and/or flushing your car’s cooling system and then replacing the old coolant with fresh coolant.

    1. Brake Fluid
Your brake fluid is used in a hydraulic brake system. The fluid is used to apply pressure to the brakes.

    1. Power Steering
Power steering fluid is used with hydraulic or electric actuators to add energy to the steering mechanism, so the driver can reduce the physical effort necessary to turn the wheels when a vehicle is stopped or moving slowly.

    1. Exhaust Fluid (Diesel only)
Diesel Exhaust Fluid is sprayed into the exhaust stream of diesel vehicles to break down dangerous Nitrogen Oxide emissions into harmless nitrogen and water.

  1. Windshield Washer Fluid
A fluid containing a combination of solvents with a detergent that is applied to your windshield to keep high visibility during operation.

Your vehicle require regular maintenance to keep it running smoothly. You can extend the longevity of your vehicle’s life and cut down on repair costs by simply checking the fluids regularly. Please see your service advisor for any additional details.
